Concert Reflections

Cousins on stage
4 1/2 months have flown by since I landed on the island nation of St. Lucia.   Thinking back on the frosty, white landscape I left, I take in anew the technicolor paradise outside my window. It would be impossible to thrive here without profound and innate change personal change.

The biggest violin!
In every interaction and new relation, a chemical process combusts, new synapses connect, and inevitable growth follows.  As I reflect, I observe my increased flexibility and stamina for sudden change and wide open mind for process and cultural conditioning.

At our year end concert this week, I'm deeply aware, the student performances reveal only one third of a year of instruction.  Yet, the connection I feel with the music and the young musicians is one that can only be  born of the steep learning curve novelty and newness can provide.  I'm proud of their ability to adapt and take direction.  Each one has taken his/her playing to a new level.

Please enjoy this performance of C-Jam Blues by the youngest performers in the Strings Studio.
